Sprinkles last for 3-5 years beyond the 'best by' date stamped on the container, this is if they have been handled properly. The shelf life of sprinkles depends on the production date or the best before date and how the sprinkles are stored. Wilton sprinkles expiration date. The 1st digit '5' is the production number. The 2nd digit '3' is the year produced - in this case '2003'. The last three digits '304' tell you the Julian Calendar date (in other words the year's. I only found codes stamped on the products.
